Doggy Etiquette

​

  1. Ask Before Petting: Always get the owner's permission before approaching a dog.

  2. Behavior Check: Aggressive behavior from dogs may lead to expulsion from the event.

  3. COVID Precautions: Please carry a mask and observe a 6-foot social distance.

  4. Clean-Up Crew: Always have waste bags on hand. Biodegradable is best!

  5. All Are Welcome: Whether you're a dog owner or just a dog lover, join us for a pawsome afternoon!

  6. Family-Friendly: Kids are welcome but must be supervised and taught proper dog greeting etiquette.

  7. Up-to-Date Treatments: Make sure your dog is protected against worms, ticks, and fleas.

  8. Leash Law: Dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet. No retractable leashes, please.

  9. Inclusivity: All breeds and sizes are welcome at our event.

  10. Community Care: Keep your dog under control when meeting other dogs and children.

  11. Size Matters: If your small dog gets tired, it's okay to carry them for a bit.

  12. Check-Out: If you need to leave early, notify a Happy Dog Academy team member (look for our tags).

  13. Left Side, Best Side: We recommend walking your dog on your left for consistency and safety.

  14. Tick Alert: We recommend natural sprays during tick season.

  15. Double Trouble: A maximum of two dogs per person. Consider a double leash for ease.

  16. Health First: If your dog is unwell, please sit this one out.

  17. Safety First: Please inform us if you or your dog have any allergies or medical conditions.

  18. Vaccination Verification: Bring proof of Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccinations if asked.

  19. Sniff Test: Keep initial sniffing to a minimum; there's time for meet-and-greets later.

  20. Space Ribbons: If your dog likes their personal bubble, we'll have yellow ribbons to tie to your leash.

  21. Liability: Participation is at your own risk. You're responsible for your dog's behavior.
